Model 523
The 523 is structurally similar to, but less fancy than the Artist range of mandolins. The headstock overlay is plain black instead of the more fancy tortoiseshell. This “Pro” model’s most distinctive feature is the block inlay fingerboard, perhaps inspired by Sam Bush’s famous “Hoss” mandolin, pictured below.
